The Ruka Golden Cottage is a two story chalet / villa constructed with enormous “hardwood” logs, a scarce and precious wood that is very hard to come by in dimensions of this size.

The 250m2 chalet is built through 2 floors, highlighted with a large loft-styled master livingroom ceiling of 10 meters in height. 5 spacious bedrooms offer luxurious accomodation for up to 10 people, with lavishly established space of privacy for all occupants.

Embracing comfort and luxury with quality beddings and extraordinaly materials, with modern luxuries of 100MB 4G wifi, LED television and blu-ray player complimented with an exquisite collection of movie classics. Featuring ipod controlled sound system, massaging showers, whirpool, wood sauna, floor heating, and fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, oven, 300 liter fridge and cooking equipment that fills the requirements of even the utmost demanding chef.

DISCOVER RUKA

a place of wonders

Legend tells of a hollow mountain, shrouded in snow, in the far distant north of Lapland. Inside the mountain is a secret workshop – a treasure trove of Christmas delights and Santa Claus.

Ruka is a place of many wonders and many deligtful discoveries. Apart from downhill skiing, there are over 500 km of cross-country skiing track and snowmobiles can be rented to enjoy some of the area’s 600 km of snowmobile routes.

In the summer the snow melts and Ruka becomes a hiking and mountain biking centre with the Oulanka National Park and world famous Karhunkeiros, 80 km hiking trail, on its doorstep.

Other activities on offer are canoeing, white water rafting, fishing, birdwatching, hiking with huskies, lake cruises, bear watching, water skiing and ATV safaris.

WILD IN THE WHITE SNOW

Snow is guaranteed in Finnish Lapland, and it stays on the ground for up to six months a year. On clear winter nights, the Northern Lights dance across the sky in green waves, lighting up the silent and luxurious snowy landscape.

Several ski resorts boast well-maintained slopes and snow parks, as well as extensive cross-country trails. Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, husky tours and reindeer sleigh rides are a taste of other activities available.

UNDER THE MIDNIGHT SUN

In the summer, the Midnight Sun provides warmth and energy for activities in the white night. Fly fishing, white-water rafting, golf and gold-panning are only a hint of everything on offer.

In September, autumn leaf colour sees Lappish nature burst into shades of yellow, orange and red, making it an ideal time for outdoor sports, such as hiking, trekking and mountain biking. Other activities on offer are canoeing, white water rafting, fishing, birdwatching, hiking with huskies, lake cruises, bear watching, water skiing and ATV safaris.
